Smirnoff Advertisement

To get an insight into the style Smirnoff take in the adverts/promotion etc we looked on youtube. This video for their Smirnoff Exchange campaign is a good example of the sort of video we want to achieve. A combination of live nightclub shots with text highlighting the function of the app. The music we use is another major thing to think of.

Smirnoff

The other possible app is Smirnoff, it has a variety of different aspects that we could focus on. The video would be a staged viral.

Part 1- Around Me
Our ideas for this section are creating a video based on the idea of a flash mob or scenarios including with the app and without.

Part 2- Create a New Flavour
Our ideas for this part of the app could involve a more interactive feature similar to what we thought of for Ryanair.

Part 3- Recipe Finder
Our ideas for this section is more comical and fun, appealing to the target customer. Scenarios including trendy people in a trendy place creating Smirnoff cocktails.

Ryanair

We first thought of possible ideas for the Ryanair app. Since the app idea was a very straight forward, functional app the viral would be an informative viral highlighting the main functions of the app.
This could be done in several ways, keeping it simple by showing a passengers journey from booking their flight to the actual day of flight and them using their app or by a more interactive approach, with a large screen floating in front of the passenger with different parts flying in and out. Although this idea would be quite difficult to execute.

Videos we looked at for inspiration are:

Apple iPhone 4S advert- simply shows the features the iphone has to offer over a variety of 30second adverts.

Samsung Galaxy ad- This video is very technical but its the interactive part we focused on, if we managed to produce something like this it would definitely be a good viral as it would get people talking.

Brief

Online Development & Practice (Part 2)

In your group (Rachel and Beth) you must decide which app you will promote. Provide rationale to support the selection of your app. Form a plan and execute a video which best communicates the key features of your app. This will be promoted online, via website, email, YouTube/Vimeo.

Consider the nature of your video, do you want it to be a viral or will this be a video that communicates the key functions of the app.

You must create a video based on staged virals, original virals, informative virals or app virals. To accompany the video you must submit a 1500 word report highlighting the following:

  • Core functions of the app
  • Target market
  • SMART objectives
  • Rational behind the video
  • A schedule/timeline
  • List of sources for app
  • Conclusion

To begin we are going to think up of ideas for both our apps and see which one has the strongest video idea. Our two apps are:

Ryanair & Smirnoff
